Kids’ Camp with the Mount Holly Police Department
Building Bonds Between Police and Community
The Mount Holly Police Department's Kids’ Camp is an exciting annual event designed to foster close, trust & friendship between local law enforcement and the community's young citizens. Through a series of engaging activities, workshops, and team-building exercises, children get an inside look at the day-to-day duties of police officers while learning valuable life skills in a safe, fun, and welcoming environment.
Hands-On Learning & Fun Activities
At Kids’ Camp, children are invited to participate in activities that provide a behind-the-scenes look at police work. From learning how to lift fingerprints to understanding the role of K9 units, every moment is an opportunity to learn and engage with the officers. Kids gain confidence as they explore new skills, ask questions, and understand more about the role of police in maintaining safety and order in the community.
Interactive Workshops: Campers work together on activities such as forensic science basics, helping them understand the investigative side of policing.
Team Building Games: Through activities and games, children build teamwork and problem-solving skills.
K9 Demonstrations: Meet the hardworking K9s and see firsthand how these trained dogs assist officers in their duties.
Strengthening Community Connections
During Kids’ Camp, officers take time to connect with each child, encouraging them to see police officers as allies and mentors. This helps to cultivate a sense of community, respect, and trust between law enforcement and the families they serve.
Friendly Interactions: Officers and campers spend time together, getting to know each other through casual conversations and shared experiences.
Positive Role Models: Through their participation, officers become role models for campers, showing them the importance of leadership, empathy, and community service.
A Day of Adventures
Kids’ Camp also ensures that children have a memorable time filled with fun. Each day is carefully planned to offer a mix of educational experiences and pure joy, allowing kids to unwind, make new friends, and create lasting memories.
Exploring Outdoors: Activities in natural settings give campers the chance to connect with the environment, engage in fun outdoor tasks, and learn about teamwork.
Building Friendships: Kids leave camp not only with new skills but also with new friends, making connections that extend beyond the event.
